COURSES
FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS
Rationale
Independent
Living Coaches and Care Givers are the back bone of the rehabilitation
and long term management infrastructure. They are a vital part of
any health management team. Their dedication to helping others
is sometimes over looked or taken for granted and occasionally their
observations may be ignored by other health team members as they
often have a non-medical back ground.
Patient
case loads and time restrictions are the two main contributing factors
to reduction in quality of care and management. Time pressures
will often make it difficult for a career to step back and allow
an individual time to complete a task independently. Increasing
career’s theoretical knowledge and practical handling skills will
improve their effectiveness with helping to assist and facilitate
individuals from dependency through to independence.
The
following programmes have been written specifically for Independent
Living Coaches and Care Givers. The aim of each course is to improve
knowledge and practical handling skills. Each course will address
a specific client group or subject that will relate to rehabilitation
